We plugged it in to charge it for the first time as there was no sunshine

It is a sturdy feeling device with rubber corners on it they say it is water proof but i dont think i would drop it in the water the plugs that fill the outlet holes when not in use dont seal and one of them wont stay closed so it is most likely rain proof not water proof

Thatd be my biggest critique – there are enough functions on this power bank that it would be really nice to have a better indication of what does what than just a picture on amazons website

The power button seems to control the flashlight but what else does it do as an examplethe unit itself feels really heavy duty – pretty similar to what a phone feels like in a rugged case like an otterbox or something

It is a combination of hard plastic with rubbery cover over the edges
