Make sure you have it turned on before you mount the panel because you have to climb the ladder again to take the 4 screws out of the back in order to take the cover off to see the on light

Dont know if the panels charge in order to let the camera run off it because the camera batteries that came with the camera were new and supposed to last up to two years
