Back lock vs liner lock is just something you will get used to, if you actually have a preference. The loaded tension in the lock spring and special curve of the shank that assists the opening. The knife opens smoothly and closes well.

Craftsman is wonderful otherwise. The quality is quite a good balance considering the price. Overall, easily worth the money for what is advertised.



Cons

Maybe it’s just the specific knife i recieved but the blade movement it is very stiff. I realize blade action on pocket knives become smoother with use but slicing up my fingers waiting for it isn’t my idea of a good time.

Lock up is annoyingly tight. The xl has a more aggressive profile and a clip point design with a false edge though there is no concavity.

Even after oiling and using it still feels slow opening. None of the three knives open smoothly and two of them were so tight they cannot open with one hand at all. The assisted opening is not very assisted unless the main screw is loose that the blad...  Read More
