Soft sided makes it easier to fit under seats, but you need to be very mindful of your pet while moving around. Super comfy inside. The shoulder straps are sturdy. Would have liked a hip strap to distribute the weight better.

This bag is a life saver! My 13 daschund fits it well, just a little short the bag. Comes with the 2 sherpa lined mats which fit the bottom when do is carried on back, but needs the longer size for when they are lying down.

For reference, my dog is 19 lbs. My 5lb pomeranian puppy fits comfortably. My dog is a mini schnauzer and weights 4-4. Lbs. Bought this for my 7lb chihuahua.

The backpack looks good but started fraying after two uses. The zipper is clearly ineffective and weak. Shortening the leash is not an option.
