Pros
It is still kind of expensive though. But then, so is my coffee roaster, espresso equipment, and all the other things i have spent copious amounts of my wife's money on. This is our second unit and we actually read the instructions.
Cons
As long as the unit is on the lowest mode everything seems ok. But when turned up it is annoying and loud.

Even though im vented to the outdoors they create considerable smoke inside my office where my roaster resides

It runs 247 silently on setting one the rest of the time

Also mine has a defect somewhere in that it refuses to use the batteries

The company was exceptionally helpful in providing an additional battery to see if that would solve the problem which it didnt and would have been happy to exchange the whole machine if i asked

In the end however i dont visualize why i would need this to be a portable machine and just run on batteries so for my use i declined the vendors offer to replace it and it sits on my counter happily sucking up smoke every time i decide to indulge in my burn coffee bean habit
