Pros

The story is terrific and despite being more than 20 years old still feels current. And mr. Boils is exceptional.

A hacker hacks his way through a virtual reality world that is, somehow, even more frightening. Written in 1992 its scary accurate in many aspects of the cyber world. Cyberpunk at its best.

It takes societal trends from 30 years ago and extrapolates them forward. It’s good versus evil with techno archeology thrown in! There is honor among thieves.

Cons

As ridiculous and convoluted as it is, the book makes a decent effort for about the first half. While the book tries to express interesting ideas about language, it is over shadowed by weird * stereotypes and cringe.

In the end, snow * really just descends into a mish-mash of nonsense. Hiro jumps from one location to another.
