This properly secures a full sized smith and wesson m&p 2. Xxl fits perfectly in rear cargo compartment and seems secure. Perfect size for a glock 19 in a kydex holster and a reload or two. Can hold 2 small pistols or 1 full-size and a magazine.
Tumblers can spontaneously jump causing your “new” code to be different than you think. Can't mess with the hinge on the rear of the box.
Cons
On top of the malfunctioning lock mechanism, the knob you turn to open the safe (after rotating the three combination dials) is slick and slippery and very hard to turn. Worst is that the latch will not open enough to get prevent latch from jamming on... Read More
This isn't good if you have to get to it in a hurry. Pure garbage. Just a waste of mild steel.

Will be switching back to my old lock box for my * vehicle storage options. The locks are plastic and held in the box by a plastic slotted end piece and a thin clip. Design is fine but construction is poor.

I do wish the box came with a back up key in case the combo mechanism has an issue

Well made with 4 separate layers of foam i had to remove two layers to fit gun properly
