Another heck of option is the nice looking and well priced nexum tunebox2 which unfortunately was discontinued too last year

Both gadgets receive audio digital stream through wifi and convert to analog signal going out to a stereo with tunebox2 having an option to bypass the buildin dac and output the digital signal directly to highend dac

But i paid 10 for a third party software tuneblade so that i can connect dp3 using airplay from my pcs and play spotify on my homepod

It can connect to a pc directly through usb and act as a dac

Dp3 also has two headphone jacks in the front one is which is balanced and also plays off bluetooth headphones

Finally it also has an ethernet jack that can connect to the home network through wire and receives audio stream though bluetooth

I found that with the remote controls going through the menu on the small screen is not too difficult although the font is on the tiny side

The biggest missing feature probably is not being able to play spotifytidaltunein directly they have to be streamed from another device
