Pros

This sharpening tool is just what the doctor ordered it's a compact size but not to small. This is the sharpener i use on all my utility knives.

The design is compact and it's nice that you don't have to use it wet since that can be a little messy. Because it is small, it is easily portable. It is nice to have everything in a single compact package.

The smith unit comes with a flat plate with diamond dust, that will put a fine even edge on a blade. Can be used on knives and scissors. Works o-k with a 6 inch blade depending on the blade's shape. Put an edge sharp enough to shave on all my hunting ...  Read More

The smith's system comes with a small diamond stone that is very useful in restoring a damaged edge. Ceramic is the easy way to go for a quick touch up. Use detergent and a 3m fabric scrubber to clean the ceramic.

Cons

For me it was decidedly not money well spent. The diamond sharpener is a joke. Everything is short with this tool. Now i'm off to find a ceramic coffee mug to see if it will get this knife sharper.

It is difficult to use the ceramic honing rods with blades over 4 inches

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The only limitation is the length of the rods but its not impossible to do longer length blades just not as easy
