Though you use your own cable for the watch it is sized to fit the oem apple charger and not others

The prosfits my iphone 11 pro perfectly the qi charger is centered perfectly on the phone and it connects everytime that a phone is connected

If you have a smaller qi capable phone the height that the phone rests on the pad is adjustable so you can recenter the phone over the pad if needed this also allows you to set the phone in landscape mode for movie watching if desired while charging

There is no way to disable this light though i can see no reason youd want to
