The strap at the bottom will unscrew so you might add a dab of glue or something to the threads to keep it from unscrewing

However i dove the silfra in iceland and was unable to rinse with tap water immediately and there was some color change to the plastic but still completely functional but the gopro attachment is now stuck on the pole and we cant remove that attachment its very much stuck on there even after
