I bought this to use on a snorkeling trip in mexico and was very impressed with the construction and quality of the product!
I am really impressed by the quality of this pole.
That being said, if you crank it down with the wrench, there's no way you're adjusting the angle of the camera without it.
Have not had a chance however to test it with the gopro controller because i have yet to get one of those.

Competitiveness
A must buy for all gopros, sturdy design that gives you the confidence of holding a lacrosse stick.
One again, i am never disappointed in any smallrig product.
You can give it a fancy name like telescopic pole, but effectively it is a selfie stick for a go pro camera.

You can definitely tell when youre about to overtighten it so be careful not to break it but just pay attention to how much youre tightening and how the camera feels when youre adjusting the position
