The obligatory cthulhu expansion does add one new element the madness cards

Therefore madness cards cannot be omitted if using any factions from this expansion and in turn you cannot use madness cards if none of these factions are included in play

This is the first expansion i bought and i love it theres a combination in here that just pours on the madness cards for other players then makes them discard them so for the most part they cant get rid of them

If youre only casually acquainted with the cthulhu mythos or are just buying the expansion for completions sake the referencerich new factions and bases will fall flat and adding madness to the game may just seem like unnecessary complication
