I have stone counters which should be safe to set hot casserole dishes and such directly on but i keep hearing stories of heat cracking them

The color bleed easily washes off with soap and warm water but i think before purchasing one should know

I can lift a hot dish by grasping the edges under cookware like a hot pad

If serving a pan straight from the oven or stovetop i would still go back to cork just to give the added protection to our table as the lattice work on the silicone trivets would allow too much heat to the wooden surface
