I contacted a very helpful witgarage support person 5 stars with my issue and the support person told me to press the main units button for 7 seconds until the light turned blue to connect the small sensor unit to complete the overall connection in the tuya smart app what shouldve been done in the witgarage app

The installation directions just says to place the sensor on the top of the garage door
