The magnet strip has to be placed on top, like parallel to the desk, which means you cannot use it on a laptop screen (which are too thin) or even in any separated desktop screen. It just falls off.

You place a pice of metal on the top of your monitor that connects magnetically to the plastic on the light but that’s not enough
