He didnt and when he finally took it out of the box everything worked except the pulse reading which is the primary reason for use

Manual monitoring will eventually wearout the buttons but it should last for a couple of years

Bc when youre huffing and puffing and moving or walking you dont need to press one button to get into the heartrate mode function only to have to press another button to get the reading
