Right now i have mine in a potted plant facing straight up and the lights are strung in a nearby dwarf japanese maple tree

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I should also mention that these lights have an onoff feature so they do not turn on automatically unless you press the button

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The length of the string is not that long it is only about 20 feet and there are 30 raindrops shaped lights made of quality plastic that is not breakable at first glance youd think they were made of glass

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I placed the lights in my front yard wrapped around a tree and pushed the solar panel spike into the ground per the instructions

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

They have to be in darkness for them to light up

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The second day the sky was cloudy so the panel did not receive enough sunlight

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

    The lights were barely lit

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

But im not sure if these would be the type of lights id use during the holiday season
