Quality

I use it for two nights only, but, very satisfied with the results.

Positive Review

I was particularly pleased with the finder scope and it's ease of alignment.

Positive Review

Had i received a scope of this quality from astro physics, or takahashi, i would have returned it.

Negative Review

The solution is to balance the scope with the camera or diagonal mounted and the tube extended.

Negative Review

A lot of beginners ignore the quality of the other stuff that a telescope needs to work.

Neutral Review

Price

The stock focuser is not meant for super heavy eyepieces.

Positive Review

Betelgeuse is one of my favorite stars to look at.

Neutral Review

Many peeps install aftermarket focusers but they cost 1/3 of the scope's price!

Neutral Review

Shipping

No cushioning material inside the shipping carton.

Neutral Review

The answer goes all the way back to a premier telescope manufacturer in japan, who in the late nineties began shipping flourite refractors.

Packaging/appearance

If you feel roughness when using the left knob of the focuser but not the right knob, then the left knob is not positioned correctly.

Negative Review

Thankfully the case is well made with good padding because the packaging by amazon was horrible.

Neutral Review

Don't touch the 4 hex screws at the four corners as they attach the black part of the focuser to the white part of the focuser.

Competitiveness

This is a wonderful scope for a beginner or for an experienced observer who wants a high-quality refractor without the high price tag.

Positive Review

I've owned a number of high-end apochromatic telescopes over the years, but ultimately could not justify their high-cost vs the...  Read More

Positive Review

One thing to consider, for a first-time buyer, is a mount for this scope.

Neutral Review

I was looking for a evostar with the fpl53 glass and wanted to clarify to anyone else looking at this scope that the manual lists the glass and i did receive the updated evostar 80ed even though the title says pro80ed.
