Pros

It feels sturdier than the bridge that it replaced. Made of good material. The tone is somewhat richer. Seems like it will hold up to years of playing.

After very light sanding of the feet to fit the top of the violin, there was a clean 1/2mm string clearance at the nut. The string spacing is perfect and the installation only took about 15 mins.

This 1/2 violin bridge shows good workmanship, with no defects visable. Fit on my karl hofner 4/4 violin with very minimal adjusting. Fits close enough to the instrument where i (guitar player looking to dabble in something different) am happy. Now it...  Read More

Cons

Bridge is rather flat for a beginner, it is not as curve as shown on the picture. It has a chip taken out of it, and the bridge was constantly slipping.

The legs won't sit perfectly conformed to the top of your cello. Cellos are not a standard size. Did not fit my full size viola well.

Quality

Thank you for a great product .

It came quickly, and i am very satisfied with it.

Good quality bridge, had to do some fitting to my cello as expected.

The wood seems to be good quality, as it only came in a bubble envelope and was not damaged.

Price

It is cut very nicely and of nice sturdy wood, and the price is actually low for such a good bridge.

Competitiveness

For the most part it seems to be a well-made bridge.

I bought it to replace the factory bridge that came on my mendini violin.

I expected to have to carve and make adjustments to the bridge to get a finished fit.

I then set the bridge in place.

However, the cuts for the strings weren't deep enough, so the a and c strings kept slipping off.

The starter violin was less than $300.

I still had to take it to a string shop to have it carved so that it correctly fits.

The bridge that came with it originally was too low so the strings were buzzing against fingerboard.

This bridge is pre-cut to a standard, complete with string grooves, but because all cellos are different, it may not fit out of the box.
