I think I ordered about four or five different pairs of shoes to try, and this is one that was fairly comfortable right from the get-go. Lots of padding. Shoes seem to be consistent left to right, which surprisingly is not always the case. I can't really say too tight or too loose. It fits as expected. I did add some orthotic insoles as the stock cushioning was not quite enough for me. The laces seem to stay put, and do not need to be double knotted.The one disappointment (and it's actually a big one) is these are definitely not slip resistant. They are actually really horrible in the cold. I'm in Alaska, and when the bottom of these get cold in the snow, the pattern on the bottom is so fine it glazes over. Feels like you're on ice skates if you walk on something like hardwood floor or laminate. I've about fallen on my butt a half-dozen times with these things. You really need to kick off the snow and make sure they're really dry before you start walking on a smooth surface. Even then expect to slip.I'd give these 5 stars otherwise, but these are dangerous shoes on smooth surfaces when coming in from the cold.  Read Less
