This book is easy to read in a sort of 'comic book' style of pages and art. My 7yo is an avid reader and should be able to handle this book herself. My 11 year old laughs and laughs during these books.

Sisters is an engaging portrayal of family adventure and mishaps with a dash of heart and plenty of sisterhood. Finding family home sibling despite fear neglectand mental illness.
Cons
The comic format seems fun, but the children in the book are generally snarky and flip towards each other and their parents. There was no resolution to the story with the parents.

It is absolutely gorgeous and in no ways age inappropriate and im disappointed that my daughter hasnt had the chance to read it yet just because someone gave it one star and called it smut

I cant speak for the topics that may come up in guts smile or drama but theres nothing here i would feel uncomfortable discussing with either my 7 or my 5 yearold daughter

It might actually be a good occasion for discussing relationship difficulties between parents even if maybe especially if thats something that your family is confronting but i can also see how that might hit too close to home for some children or their parents and be triggering rather than comforting for someone who is living through a similar situation
