Initially we were looking at the insinkerator air switch and installing it in the predrilled hole in our sink but we were conflicted because then wed lose the option for the soap dispenser our sink only had one predrilled hole

That switch actually activates the socket under the sink where the disposer is plugged into

Unfortunately my dishwasher which was the only power running near my kitchen sink was hardwired and not plugged in

The only issue and its a tiny one is that the gasket that comes with the unit which is supposed to make sure that water cannot get under your counter from around the button wasnt wide enough to actually cover the holeit went right through

The air switch unit now sits flush in the counter top and underneath plugs into the existing garbage disposal power outlet
