Pros & Cons

Pros

The simthread holder is sturdy and easy to assemble. It is nice and sturdy and held the thread good. There is some minor assembly required, and no directions or photos were included.

I do a lot of machine embroidery and rewind my own bobbin thread from very large spools. Works perfectly with my new embroideredy machine.

Sits in back of machine feeds the thread. When using metallic threads, it helps to move the spool to the floor to increase the distance the thread travels to decrease breakage. No instructions and have a nut extra.

This one is fantastic! This spool holder is the perfect solution. This is awesome.

This oversized thread spool holder isn't as nice as the quilt store product but it's a much nicer price - and it still gets the job done. Adequate size for even the largest spools. Perfect for large spools or metallic threads.

Cons

The quality and durability is not good at all. It was very cheaply made. This thread stand is not as sturdy.

Luckily i wasnt it was just that the threads in the base are so tight that you can barely get the poles started by hand

If you are only assembling this once this is less of an issue but my wife likes to disassemble this holder for storage when shes not using it

Fwiw the nut on the end of the pole is a jam nut and not designed to be fastened underneath the base to hold the rod in place

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The idea is that you back the jam nut all the way up the post then align the hook over your spool

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Then tighten the jam nut to keep the hook from rotating

I hope that you have found my review and pictures helpful

It has a heavy metal base so it doesnt tip over and the thread bar screws in to the base

The thread bar also comes apart in the middle for transporting it perfect for me when taking it along to our quilting group
