The description states 2000 watts but have ran 2500 watts and had no problems its the reason i give the product a 5 stars
I hope the ones made now are similar in quality as the ones from many years ago as i have just ordered another 2 of these
I ended up cutting it off and replacing with the correct north american nema 615 plug i needed
If all you need is the stepdown function dont bother with the much bigger stepupstepdown boxes

I gave the unit 4 stars only because of some damage presumably suffered in shipping from the manufacturer
Competitiveness
It helps me to operate a 110v floor cleaner 700w with no issue
I got the 500w model and that is good for devices consuming 1w 400w in total
It has an audible hum as compared to my 1000w step down from the same manufacturer but thats to be expected
I bought the 3kw unit and it’s heavy over 30 lbs

It did have a noticeable hum which is an artifact of the auto transformer design it did run a bit hot and after being on continuously for 5 hours the body of the transformer was hot to the touch not dangerously hot but warm enough that i wouldn’t want to leave it plugged in inside my house unattended

They ran it through the xray machine a few extra times since it appears as a void it’s a chunk of iron after all

One of the end bell covers the one with the the us style outlets was dented in due to contact with something in transit
