Pros & Cons
Pros
Converter works flawlessly on low wattage items. Works fine for running most 240 volt appliances with 120 volt power. Comes with 2 spare fuses and free european plug.
Cons
Device has cosmetic dent. Hardly used it. Working with amazon for refund.
Shorted 120vac side causes excessive temperature on wire near core and shorted. Changed the plug (to have grounding) still nothing. Sent with blown fuse. Using 50 hz on a 110v motor designed for 60 hz will overheat and is a massive fire risk.
I noticed that i could smell rather strong'shellac' odor with it on and top of case about 50c my guess with no load (actually insulation is normally polyimide or enamel) no smoke, but a permeating smell.
