Pros
The timer works for a variety of appliances. It can be set for steady on or timed off at 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. I use this to charge my ipad and iphone so they are not over charged. Great for not over-charging appliances.
Cons
Most ams i walk into my office to find it didnt shut off again. Also i have to unplug device and wait one minute before plugging back in to get the * thing to reset.

You can set a heater or other device for an hour or two and it will shut off
