Pros
This device comes with a check valve and a ball valve. With the included instructions, they indicate to connect the check valve to pvc. They make special transition cement (oatey - abs to pvc transition green cement $8.
Cons
One year after purchase and installation the pump failed. Now it is may and the plumber came to finish the installation but couldn't get the right pieces to complete the job. Warranty only covers 12 months. Lasted 4 hours.
No grime, no sand, no solids at all. The sink fills half way before the pump turns on. Once it is plugged in it doesn't automatically pull the water once it senses the basin has water.

I also used a brass backflow preventer and brass ball valve instead of the plastic ones that came with the pump
Now with the new washer tub pump its a pleasure to go into laundry room

Amazon and simer have a terrible customer service telephone line between amazon telling me i have to contact simer and then simer telling me to contact the distributer
