Meets it purpose, is well constructed and cost effective. Has everything else the cheaper compass has and probably more. Such as the silva expedition g 360, silva lensatic 360 engineer and silva ranger 2.

Unlike some reviewers i have not encountered any problems with the lanyard unexpectedly coming apart i do wish it was a little longer
Declination adjustment is a nice touch and is easy to use with the included tool

I also like having the map orienting lines in the capsule unhindered by a company logo as the competition has done
Really wellmade baseplate compass for any scout or outdoorsman

Decided to splurge and get a model with adjustable declination it does make it easier to use and amazon had it at a good price 25 lower than silvas website

But as other reviewers have noted the luminous marking on the needle is nearly impossible to see in the dark making this feature basically useless and pointless
