The mat is dishwasher safe, but i've started washing it in my single-basin sink. It stays put on my granite countertop. The lines and marking are easy to read.

For everything you're likely to buy this mat for it works well and as we expected. For me that makes it worth another few bucks. Great for rolling out fondant. This mat fits the bill.
