It says it needs cat6 cables but my cables were installed in 1999 so only the cat5 specification was common

Once i got them plugged and powered it didnt seem to connect at first

Google told me to press the eq button and that the green light turned on both then i got connection from the upstairs computer

If you are 100ft or over you will need to press it once or twice on both devices
