I had bought the navy one with the bow i think it a better quality of hat this one is hard with a soft top
The plastic is the perfect thickness so it stays dropped down in front of your face and does not move with the wind against your face

Brim does currenly have folds in it because stiff and shipping but it looks like it will loosen with wearing
Face shield is just plastic and has some folds from shipping that i expect to wear out

The plastic is soft and you can remove the sheild to use the hat only

Love the hat but it was to big for my head and i have to stuff it with a tshirt to wear it

The hat was soo tall that it made the visor rewt on my shoulders a problem when my head turned

The joggers run quietly behind on a trail without letting walkers know they pass within 2 feet no masks no warning bikers do the same and the majority of people walking dont even have a mask with them either

By the way there is a thin string under the lining that lets you adjust the hat size

If the wind is blowing the strap keeps it anchored and the shield stays in place however the plastic sheeting think clear thick shower curtain blows in your face and distorts the field of vision somewhat2
