Surge protector is exactly as advertised. It also is supposed to protect against in-house surges caused by heavy motors and compressors turning on and off. For a type 2 surge protection, i searched square d / ge / eaton / siemens, etc.
It has a 10-year warranty. Many other products suggest replacement every 2-4 years. For me it is expensive but if really it is lasting 10 years (so it says) it could be a long lasting option.
The old unit contains metal oxide varistors (mov) that wear out over time. It’s almost large enough to be flush with the drywall once inside the cavity.
A pair of green lights indicate that the device is functioning properly. I like the fact that it has two green status lights, which allows me to quickly glance over and verify the protection is operational.
Cons
