I'm someone who is always skeptical when people say 'oh you must read *insert famous title here*' it's a brilliant story, a book everyone should read at least once.

siddhartha accepts his activities and experiences as continuous with his life as part of a timeless whole. He says the things he has learnt to do are “a temporary palliative against the pain and folly of life’.

As an adolescent, siddhartha joins an ascetic sect, the samanas. He realizes that not one samana will attain nirvana and neither will they. When he meets again his old friend govinda who has become a faithful disciple of the buddha.



Cons

This version is riddled with spelling mistakes, mistranslation, missing words and verbs in the wrong tenses. Moreover, the formatting is terrible - sentences often finish halfway across the kindle screen.
