These microphones are not intended to be used for musical recordings but instead are used for voice amplification and recording from podiums or conference tables

You can push on the mic to mute but it only stays muted while you push down on the mute area not really a button

It picks up the audio from everyone very well sometimes too much as it can pick up background noise and i have to filter the recording with garageband

Also the mic has a button on the front to activate like an onoff but you would need to simply open the cover one screw driver on the back and set the knobs as such following the manual instructions

It didnt pick up my voice as well as i wouldve wanted
