The sonys are for the gym. The sony earphones are a bit easier to insert and sit more comfortably in the ear than the shures.
Cons
The design has a fatal flaw. Only jiggling the wire right at the earbud would cause a quick reconnect.

However having gotten to try both a pair of 20 in ear headphones and a pair of the sony v700 headphones that every dj and their mom owns i decided to spend the extra money to pick up a pair of shure e3 headphones rather than the ultrasone dj1 pro headphones i had been drooling over
