Pros & Cons
Pros
The knife itself is amazing. It feels good to hold, and the blade is exceptionally beautiful. Shun always delivers.
This knife is my first foray into the shun line. It complements a number of other knives i have extremely well. I store all of my japanese damascus kitchen knives in this bag.
It's not only beautiful but sliced through a super crusty ciabatta like it was a milk loaf. Slices the crusty sourdough loaves like silk.
Cons
This makes me modifying my original review, i have to note that this knife went dull quickly. The knife has only been used for cutting bread, on maple or soft plastic cutting boards. The tooth is severely worn.
Highlights
Quality
One of the beat for quality design and durability as all shun knives
I must say that we are both impressed
But it did not come in its gift box as shown in the product listing
Packaging/appearance
All i can add to the rest of the fivestar reviews is that this is our goto knife for slicing tomatoes as thin as you like
Competitiveness
Definitely worth having for the amateur and the professional

This knife is serrated so doesnt apply but for the rest of the collection let me just caution you if you do your own knife care like i do shun classics have a specific nonstandard 16 degree angle so sharpening them yourself takes skill and attention

But leave water or another substance sitting on them and see the damage rust discoloration etc
