Pros & Cons
Pros
River path is the best. Discovered this almost 20 years ago in a small boutique for about 25$. Couldn't be happier with it. I just love it, even though it is very pricey. It is very delicate and lasts for a long time.
The quality and fragrance are absolutely amazing and far surpasses any other incense i have ever tried. This is a beautiful, subtle blend that is not over powering and not real smokey. It never has a burnt smell and it never smells sickly sweet.
Horikawa coils are the most luxurious incense i have ever experienced. Shoyeido horin incense is well worth the price. These are by far top of the line, top shelf, sent straight from the heavens.
It comes in a beautifully packaged box with delicate coils. Opening the box forces you to take your time and handle it gently.
Cons
The scent is not bad but it is not amazing either. I still find it hard to believe that a tiny box of incense coils that is not that great can cost $36.
Highlights
Quality
And this is their high quality line
The smell is fantastic and its made with really good ingredients
The coil actually burns much much longer than the sticks and thus permeates your home for hours after its stopped burning
The sticks are supposed to burn something like 3060 min and burn in 10 minutes
Price
In fact i bought mine for 40 in japan so the 36 amazon price tag and the prime free shipping really makes this a deal
It may be a little more in price than some others but it is well worth the splurge
I was even more surprised when i looked at my receipt to find that it was the incense that was so expensive
If you can afford it try it for yourself
Packaging/appearance
It comes in a beautifully packaged box with delicate coils that are packaged between pieces of tissue so that they won’t break
It comes packaged as only the japanese do truly a gift
Even though the packing is delicately done the incense can handle the rough shipping
I didnt see the price on the bottom of the box so i was very surprised when they gave me my total but i had just attended an ex... Read More
Competitiveness
I bought these first while in japan and they are the same price over there too
