Pros
There was nothing to dislike. Very informative and helpful. I'm hooked and hoping there is a whole series.
It is gratifying to find something easy enough to get the gist and challenging enough. The vocabulary is not too challenging, and they are light and amusing - recommended.
They are also useful to read out loud to practise pronunciation. It is encouraging to interpret the written word and then finding that one probably remembers much more than realised.
The stories flow nicely and at the end of each chapter is a summary of the story and an english translation of some selected words. The vocabulary section can be a bit. Basic but can not fault the stories at all.

The occasional highlighted word or phrase is missing from the vocab and the choice of wordsphrases can be odd with some basic stuff included and some of the more unusual or difficult words not

Admittedly no vocab section is going to be comprehensive and take into account the readers background without turning the book into a huge dictionary

If theres a word you are unsure of you just click the word it tells you not in the normal translate app

One unfortunate aspect of the series is that each of the stories is the same across all beginner books each one features the same 8 plotlines and therefore i assume for the intermediate books also

I was hoping to use the french books following my use of the brazilian portuguese one however i wont be able to engage with them in quite the same way as i will unavoidably remember each of their twists and turns

There is the pdf which gives a summary of each chapter and some vocabulary but there is no transcript of the text so difficult to work out some parts
