Pros
The oscillating function is awesome and runs smoothly. Made in taiwan, it does the job well. It works really well and saved me money but not having to buy another dedicated machine.
I have a full time knife making and sharpening biz. Bought this just for general use and casual woodworking.
Shop fox changed the packaging to help protect the drill press. Everything was either easily corrected, or as stated in the specifications.
The machine comes with the motor/head-stock disassembled from the base and column. If you are not mechanically inclined or have bever assembled a drill press before you might have a tough time with it.
Worked well with 5/32 carbide bits to drill in 1/8 & 1/4 thick non-heat treated s30v and 440c stainless steels. Came out clean as a whistle. The chuck is heavy duty 33jt tapered mount and gets the job done.
Cons
The quill return spring is also garbage. It has been tightened and still doesn't return to zero. Buy a nicer drill press, this one is a pain in the *. The jet is about 95 lbs and the shopfox is 120 lbs.

This is a rock solid drill press and a very quiet unit with very little vibration
The top cover was bent so badly that it took 2 hours to straighten out so it would close

So for me at this price point and the overall experience with the purchase quality setup 1 hour i give two thumbs up

Every one of them that were in the price point as this one had there share of positive and as well negative reviews
The price fluctuates so wait til it is on sale

If you are worried about shipping and getting a busted one buy it from hoe dot and have it shipped to store for free
Its a china built machine shipped to your door
Packaging/appearance
I read a bunch of reviews that complained about poor packaging but mine was perfect all the way
Packaged very well with no missing parts or damaged
Just not worth re packaging and sending back
Badcame in damaged the hood was dented
Competitiveness
This tool fills my need but if your are a serious woodworker and make a living at your craft pick a better brand
