Pros

My first read by melinda leigh but definitely not my last. After one particular bad altercation with her husband, beth packs up her kids and goes on the run.

There were few surprise twists, but plenty of intrigue. I loved the way the author added a little paranormal into the mix. The characters are believable.

Cons

Only two female the lead in need of a knight, and a house keeper. The protagonist is totally unbelievable.

The "mystery" is fairly obvious and therefore much less satisfying in the end. The plot is formulaic and cliched. Way too much romance and way too little thriller/suspense.

Too far fetched for my liking. My bad for not noticing before borrowing. Something better warn pete buttigieg.
