The sensor defrost works very well. Defrost seems to be an on/off function, not the power modulation you get with some newer model, but it works. Heats foods quickly and evenly. Re-heats a full mug of tea to the perfect temp.

Worked perfectly as promised once set up. It's also priced right. Here are the rubs though.

Sharp ove is a smart microwave with an alexa feature. It has a classy look and super easy to use keypad. Not as easy as my old panasonic, but better than panasonic.

It hold on like barnicles on a ship hull. Smaller size fits in the allocated space. I guess that saves a few pennies.

The beeper is more of a ding bell tone than a beep, so way better than our old oster. What is of note is sharp's customer service. These are simple elements of human engineering that japanese companies used to excel at.

The door makes a resounding hollow sound when closing it. I have to repeat the process at least 10 times before it runs more than 10 seconds and pops the popcorn. The power cord is too short to use unless the appliance is placed on a counter top.

Not even bothering to try to return second defective unit. Customer support is utterly unequipped to pass on a suggestion. I don't blame amazon for the faulty product - this is a manufacturer issue.

Bad and useless keypad makes it unusable. The key pad is strange and many time you have to try another finger or turn your finger sideways. No backlit *.

The inside is all rusted. It is rusted on the bottom, the sides, and the opening. Why is it so difficult to find a microwave that lasts more than a year?
