This is a very difficult book for me to finish. The author condemns the west to much in this book, which is absurd to me, as this author has lived in the lap of luxury of an environment that was itself transformed.

This comes off as arm chair quarterbacking. That's pretty far fetched. Like a token on a shelf.

Author claims to be a shaman from ecuador. Says he is a "tribesman" and expects the american to behave with ethics he doesn't expect of tribesmen.
