I had to extend the 18ft coax supplied with my antenna to reach the cb radio

If application is exposed to moisture andor salt air i highly recommend sealing the connections with scotch 2228 moisture sealing electrical tape search amazon electronics 3m company 2228 rubber mastic tape 1 x 10inch

Of course if connection is vertical it should be on the top side of a driploop
