Pros

They look attractive and purposeful plus have some heft even when empty.

The tops are decently effective. After a few uses, i got used to holding the lid open while salting my food. Great for traveling, especially in summer humidity.

No more clumping of salt. These shakers are sturdily & durably constructed.

Cons

The salt is continually clumped together and the holes are clogged every time. It's impossible to push the lid extension down and shake it at the same time. This shaker became clogged with moisture and salt very quickly.
