Pros & Cons

Pros

My one gripe about the unit is that after you bake it to remove existing moisture from the silica gel, the granules are supposed to turn orange. I recharge them about every three months when the windows start to grow dark.

Cons

I had to take apart the 250* containers to make sure the silica reactivated correctly; and it did (as seen in pictures); just makes a mess when you pop it open. After less than 4 weeks of minimal handling all 6 have popped open and spilled their beads...  Read More

Quality

This is well made easy to recharge in the oven temp set at 300f for 3 hours will be buying more

The product seems to be well built and appears solid

It leaked just enough when it got dunked in water that it initially had some minor issues and then stopped working over the period of a day

If it ever becomes damp place it on foil into the oven for a few minutes and it is new all over again

Price

With the price and scarcity of ammo these are well worth the cost to assure it won’t rust or degrade from moisture

Shipping

Product arrives pretty fast and in good condition

308 and the delivery guy left my package on the snow

They arrived on 11 september ahead of the promised time

I put them in checked a week later and they were clear

Packaging/appearance

They were sealed in a handy recloseable pouch

I put the damp individual boxes in the ammo can with the desiccant and everything was bone dry by the next day

All cannisters in sealed packaging which was airtight to prevent moisture intrusion prior to use

The packaging has a different max oven temp than the actual device

These dessicants let you know when they need to be 34recharged34 by showing a clear color through the small window on them

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Some other reviews have noted that the window is hard to see through after heating them in the oven one time but i havent experienced that with the ones that i have fwiw

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Every month and a half i have to recharge the silica but so far my documents are staying dry

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

My only real issue is that is comes in a resealable five pack and the packets are not individually wrapped

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I only used three of the five packets when i opened the five pack and am afraid i will have to reactivate the other two packets in an oven when i get ready to use it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Not a great problem and i will probably order more of the five packs from this vendor

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

But all five came in a sealed bag which clearly states that in order to remove moisture they are to be placed in the over for 23 hours and not exceed 200240 f

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I dont know but i relabeled my tins with a sharpie staying in the 200240 f range
