Theirs is more than a novel, it is a wonderful word-building omnibus. The story flows smoothly throughout the book.

Sergeant gerald matheson is the main character in this book. He is the son of lord richard fitzwilliam, the baron of bodden. The book follows gerald's life from a young boy to an exiled soldier.

Cons

Almost every situation is grossly over contrived in the plot. Not occasionally, always. The description of a mob riot with glass bottles to throw in 953 ad is ridiculous.
