To install the cradle at the top of the stick you have to place the bar on the opposite side of the hexagonal nut

I placed my s6 edge and it felt extremely secure in the cradle in fact the cradle was a little bit difficult to open up to place the phone inside as the springs are pretty stiff but this also reassures me that my phone will not wiggle around or have a chance of falling out of the cradle

Also if you was wanting to use this selfie stick with like a gopro or a point and shoot camera you can get an adapter that will allow you too do that
