Pros & Cons
Pros
The ability to quickly disassemble the cart taking very little space in the canoe is a plus. It carries my 17' 150lb dory nicely. A handle tied to rope is a good idea for longer portages.
Cons
Buy a sturdier card with inflatable wheels. We have a 15' 80lb tandem and this cart is too light weight.

The trail is not all paddling with a good chunk of it on road shoulders and portages ranging from gravel paths to rough rocky root covered terrain as well as deep mud

My two fellow thru paddlers had small diameter wheeled carts from other makers and both failed over the course of the trip with one starting to fail on the first day

At one point we carried one of the boats doublestacked on my boat for about 4 miles of road shoulder after a complete failure of a cart

Here are the cons the blasted kickstand would not stay up and dragged on rocks roots and in mud see picture the strap system was not long enough to run the straps through the seat structure so that over the course of a portage over rocks or roots or mud the cart would work its way off the back of the canoe

As for the wheels when portaging over gravel the tires would pick up sharp stones that would embed themselves in the tires and they would work their way through to the plastic wheel and make an annoying squeak i lost count of how many times i picked stones out of them

My last con is one of the tires began to delaminate about three quarters of the way into the trip

A couple wraps of duct tape kept it from coming off completely

Once you use it a few times you will develop a system
