Pros

Scythe of arc is the first book in the arc of a scythe series. Neal shusterman’s prose is gorgeous. Neal schusterman is an underappreciated author and needs more hype!

In a world where humans have overcome every obstacle, the only problem now is overpopulation. Death is temporary, everyone revived quickly and painlessly. My only gripe is that because it’s young adult, i found the killings a bit too morbid.

The book centers around citra and rowan, two newly chosen scythe apprentices. They find themselves embroiled in a political miasma. The characters are fantastic.

The concept is insanely unique, and the whole story is inventive and over the top amazing! A wonderfully different book. Brilliantly * book.

Scythe is remarkable in its extreme mediocrity. The premise is interesting, but it reads as a gimmick.

The blackmail issue should have been brought up waaaaaay sooner. It's hard watching the author trying (and failing) over and over to justify the position of goddard and his followers.

    From the journal entries of various scythes and the thunderhead to the inter connectedness of the age of mortality and nearly immortal beings scythe is one of my favorite books i have ever read and if you have any interest in the young adultfiction genre… you better put this book on your list of “next to read” because it encapsulates the meaning of thrill
